Description
A Gray Sandstone Figure of Parvati, Central India, Circa 10th Century AD. Upright, holding a gada in her left hand, wearing a necklace and large earrings, her hair drawn up into a complex jatamukuta.
Provenance
Acquired by current owners of this collection at Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco from a sale of items from an English Stately Home. Bought in 1993 from Folk Art International.
